Rugway is committed to sustainability in a variety of ways:

Right from the start, our focus has been on producing carpets that are not only aesthetically pleasing, but also environmentally friendly and ethically sound. This holistic approach is reflected in various aspects of our business.

Environmentally friendly materials:

Our carpets are made from sustainable materials . We use natural and biodegradable fibres to minimise our environmental footprint. This mindful approach to raw materials extends throughout the entire production chain, from the selection of yarns right through to the final stages of production.

Regional production:

Our carpets are largely produced locally and regionally, directly at the respective workshops. This not only reduces transport costs, but also supports the local economy and helps to reduce CO₂ emissions. By utilising state-of-the-art production chains and selected manufacturers, we also minimise energy consumption.

Social responsibility:

Our commitment to sustainability extends not only to environmental considerations, but also to social responsibility. We are actively committed to fair working conditions and fair pay. Our team receives regular training to ensure that ethical standards are upheld throughout the entire value chain. Furthermore, we have long been a proud member of CARE&FAIR e.V., an organisation which, amongst other things, campaigns for the creation of school and training places, against child labour, and for basic healthcare in developing countries.

Durability and repairability:

A key aspect of our sustainable practices is the promotion of durable products. Our carpets are manufactured to the highest quality standards to ensure a long service life. In addition, we offer repair services to ensure that the carpets can be restored in the event of wear and tear or damage.

Transparent communication:

We are committed to transparent communication regarding our sustainability efforts. This includes disclosing our supply chain, the origin of our materials and the environmental impact of our production. Customers are able to make informed decisions and play an active part in our mission towards sustainable development.

Innovation:

As a company, we are committed to constantly developing innovative solutions to further improve our sustainable practices. We invest a great deal of time and effort into developing new products featuring improved materials, production methods and recycling technologies – as is the case, for example, with our patchwork rugs – thereby enabling us to further minimise our environmental impact.
